Awards, Awards!
This post is a bit late in the making, but only because I really wanted to give it to the right people. (Read: I needed to find more great book bloggers!)
A few weeks ago, I was honored to receive the Splash! award from Blooey of Bookmarked! Because I've been given that affirmation, in spite of the short time I've been blogging, I'd like to spread the love to the other book blogs that I love. But first...
The Rules:
1) Put the logo on your blog/post.
2) Nominate up to 9 blogs which allure, amuse, bewitch, impress or inspire you.
3) Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4) Let them know that they have been splashed by commenting on their blog.
5) Remember to link to the person from whom your received your Splash award.
The Awardees:
- Dovegreyreader at dovegreyreader scribbles
- Chris at book-a-rama
- Aarti at Booklust
- Avisannschild at she reads and reads
- Bookfool at Bookfoolery and Babble
- Coversgirl at Between the Covers
- Ms Bubblefiish at Ms Textual's Book Blog
- Sharon at Ex Libris
- Melissa at Book Nut
Reason:
Refer to #2 of the rules.:) Mostly, these guys inspire me. They have such wonderful book blogs and entertaining posts. And through them, I discovered just how many more book geeks there are in the world, which makes me think that the world's not such a bad place after all.:)
As if that wasn't enough, a few days ago, Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell also gave me the Premio Dardos award. Thank you so much, Blodeuedd! And here's my effort in spreading the blog-love:
The Premio Dardos award:
This award is for bloggers who distinguish themselves for showing cultural values, ethics, great and fun writing skills, as well individual values, through their creative writing.
The rules are:
1. To accept and show the distinct image
2. Show the link to the blog from which you were given the award
3. Choose 15 blogs to give the Dards Award (Premio Dardos)
The awardees:
- Blooey of Bookmarked!
- Ihop of Islandhopper Lives It Up!
- Peter of KyusiReader
- Johanna of Jo's Bookshelf
- Eric of Daily Musings
- MizB of Should Be Reading
- 3M of 1morechapter.com
- kimbofo of Reading Matters
- Suzanne of Chick with Books
- Book Pusher of The Genteel Arsenal
- Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell (right back at you!)
For #'s 1-4, because you already got the other award.;) Seriously, these are blogs that I love reading, exactly because they are interesting to read and because I like the voices behind the posts. And also, for pretty much the same reasons as the first award.
Comments
I must post about it tomorrow
Btw, you have a whole list of interesting links. Must take a peek at them 'cause I only have micro list in my blog roll.
There are some great book blogs out there and when I get a little disappointed that I can't discuss all this in the 'real' world with friends, it's very heartening to know that there are delightful bookaholics all over the blogosphere.
Peter: Do check them out. I love them.
Jo: I actually spent a whole day blog-hopping cause I just kept following links and finding great blogs.:)
Melissa: Yup, I like the mermaid, too.:)
Chris: It is cute, isn't it?
Ms. Bubblefish: I completely understand what you mean. Recently, I went out with my work friends and I started talking about books and book blogging, and all I got were polite smiles or blank stares. At least with book bloggers, I know I won't get those.:)
Blooey: You're welcome, but you got the Premio Dardos. Only because my Splash came from you.:)
It sounds like a very nice idea, but I want to make sure I get this right before I start doing it on my blog.
Book pusher: Don't worry--took me a while to pass on the awards, too.:)
Ian: Yes, that's correct. Though, you don't have to pass it on if you really don't want to. Thank goodness memes aren't like chain letters where there's threat of bad luck if you don't pass it on. Thanks for the compliment!
shouldbereading: You're welcome.:)
I really like how you've taken to this blogging thing very well. And you really have the right to do these book reviews. Not just because understanding literature is part of your core competency, but also because your passion for books just shines through in your entries. You sound like you're really in love with books. By posting, you're entertaining your readers and also educating us.
I did check out your award ideas, and I think they're great!
Gege: Thanks so much for the compliment! I have you to thank, too, for encouraging and inspiring me to blog. Lately, I've been getting addicted to it.:)
Avisannschild: Oh, sorry about that. Don't worry, the more I get savvy with blogging, the more I'll try to experiment with other comment set-ups. And congratulations!
