At the Tintin Shop Launch

The nice people from Fully Booked invited me to the Tintin Shop Manila launch last June 25. I've been the recipient of many kindesses from Fully Booked, all because I shop at their store a lot, so I figure I should return the kindness by posting the pictures I took during the event.

I am leagues away from being an awesome photographer, both in terms of composition and just actually remembering to take photographs. So, anything here that looks sucky is entirely my fault and should not reflect on the awesomeness of Fully Booked BGC's Tintin section, which, I am told, can more than rival the Tintin Shop in Singapore.

Tintin books!
The reception and cocktail area from the top view. So, there was food and there were games.
Peeps from Fully Booked dressed up as Tintin (who else?), and took turns touring groups of at most 4 people around the Tintin Shop.
The beginning of our tour. Tour guides gave us a history of Herge and Tintin using the merchandise around the store. I found it fascinating. At this point, I remember our guide talking about the cleanness of Herge's lines.
Our lovely guide, Trish, who was showing us how Tintin titles are always displayed chronologically, to trace the development of Herge's own political development.

After the tour, we hit the buffet table. Naturally.
The food was charmingly Tintin referenced.:)
I didn't get to taste these babies, though.
Was loathe to eat these cookies, so I gave it to my daughter, who isn't loathe to eat any kind of cookie at all.
One of the games. Had to read lines in a pirate voice, too.
Some of the prizes for the game above: Tintin cards.
Loot bag contents, some prizes, and a Tintin book I bought for sonny boy. This particular edition is geared for kids since it has some info on the characters and history.
The boy himself, with his own books. (I really like this figurine.)

I forgot to take a picture of the Tintin t-shirts and the Snowy stuffed toys, alas. I was also hoping to meet the other bloggers whom I saw in the registration list, but I wasn't sure who they were. I'm hoping to find another opportunity to meet them, though.

Anyway, whether you're a Tintin fan or not, I hope you get to drop by. It really is a lovely section.

Was this launch open for public? Too bad I was not able to attend. Tintin reminds me of my childhood days.
