BBAW Future Treasures

This is slightly late in my part of the world, given it's already Saturday morning here. But, hey, it's still Friday night in other parts. So, this is the last post for this year's Book Blogger Appreciation Week. And this is what the committee is asking us to write about:
We want to hear all about your FUTURE treasures.  We’ve been visiting each other and getting to know each other better…now is your chance to share what you enjoyed about BBAW and also what your blogging goals are for the next year!
Since I started blogging, I've periodically joined blogging events like this for one reason: I like being part of the community. I don't think I would've stayed in book blogging (or kept coming back) if it weren't for the warm community of book bloggers who continually support each other, even amidst a difference of opinions. Books are great; books are wonderful. But not having someone to talk to about books makes me feel a little bit lonely, so I love these community activities that tell me there's a wide world of people out there who also love books the way I do and whom I can interact with.

Now for my blogging goals...

  • be a more regular blogger

This means that I want to post more regularly, since I tend to disappear from blogging when life gets too hectic. I tell myself that life takes precedence over blogging (and I still think it does), but I'd still like to blog more regularly because blogging is one way to take a break from life. So, I'm setting myself a goal of at least 3 posts a week. Besides, I'm trying to train myself to have more discipline in writing.

  • read and review more Filipino works

I'm Filipina, but I read more foreign titles. I'd like to do my part, though, in knowing and promoting more of my countrymen's works, as well as create more discourse about them.

  • clean my blogroll

Confession: my long, long blogroll has been bothering me. I've been wanting to add more blogs there, but if I did, it would get infinitely longer. So, I'm still trying to figure out whether I should take it out entirely or place it as one of my tabs. After all, I mostly use my Google reader to keep track of the blogs I follow.

I'm keeping my goals few and doable, so I don't feel overwhelmed by them.  And finally, thanks to the organizers of BBAW 2010 and to everyone I met in its course. Events like these make me really happy to be part of the book blogging world.

You have some great goals. I want to be a more consistent blogger too.
